On April 13th, we celebrate 5 years of Emmeff Pearl. In honor of the "wood" theme of anniversaries, as well as a nod to our mission to showcase the underrepresented genres of El Paso, Against the Grain is a hip-hop exhibition that challenges how we present music in the 915.

Join us for the evening at Star City Recording Studio, where you will be able to experience three unique hip-hop performances from Krystall Poppin, A. Billi Free & The Lasso, and Groovy Shmokes & Stan Z. Four different sounds of hip hop wrapped into three sets and paired with an ultra-special Emmeff-curated market. Featuring Midnight at the Laundromat who will be guiding us on the turntables between every performance.

We're excited to pair the lineup with our very first curated market featuring hand-made garments from Frontera Company, a fine-art installation by Moi Garcia, and contemporary set design by La Planta, the Market elevates the showcase and further establishes Emmeff Pearl's attention to detail and presentation.

This event will be 21 and over, and entrance will be in the form of guest list via the name entered on your ticket purchase. Every ticket purchase will have five drink tickets included. This will be a recorded performance, so prepare for an avant-garde experience that will allow for the production team to still perform their obligations. Food will be available by Tacos El Gomz and Heavenly Slices.
